Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) is an umbrella organization of doctors that represents doctors of both health and medical education.

The medicos’ body has its units in all the primary health centres, district and tertiary care hospitals including Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar and Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura.

The scientific body was created with the twin objective of welfare of doctors and quality healthcare.

In order to achieve quality health care for all, DAK is working tirelessly for a comprehensive health policy.

DAK is committed to strengthen primary health care coverage that would bring healthcare delivery services to underserved and unserved.

This can be accomplished by setting up “Mohalla Clinics” that would offer healthcare at doorstep of people.

More than 90% of patients can be treated in these clinics freeing tertiary care hospitals for advanced care and research.

DAK is for decentralization of healthcare services and optimum utilization of infrastructure and manpower as lack of facilities in peripheries is costing lives.
